Rotary Partners with Red Moutain Theatre Co. for Kickoff of YPA North Alabama

Rotary District 6860 partnered with Red Mountain Theatre Company to kick off Youth & Peace in Action (YPA) North Alabama at the theatre on September 25th. Organizers, including Rotarian Will Ratliff, Chair of the Rotary International Peace Conference set to take place in Birmingham in 2023, planned the youth peacebuilding initiative to coincide with the International Day of Peace on September 21, 2021. 

High school students and mentors gathered to share professional presentations of the 11 team action peace projects they completed during the program's inaugural 2020-21 year in Birmingham, with coaching from theatre representatives.

This year, up to 50 high schools and youth service clubs/organizations will take part in the program at no cost thanks to support from Rotary District 6860 in collaboration with Rotary Zones 33 & 34. Learn more at www.youthpeaceaction.org/alabama.
