This week the Rotary Club of Birmingham (RCB) welcomed Consul General of Israel to the Southeastern U.S. Anat Sultan-Dadon for a conversation facilitated by Rotarian Danny Cohn, Executive Director of the Birmingham Jewish Federation and Foundation. They discussed the role Israeli consulates play in supporting the embassy's efforts to advance bilateral relations. The Consul General provided an overview of historical tensions in the Middle East that have precipitated current day conflict, strategies to bring peace to the region, and how Americans can support Israel.
"Peace is a choice," the Consul General said. "It is a choice to be made. It is a choice made by courageous leaders. And that is the kind of leadership that should be encouraged in our region."
