Rotary Takes Part in Better Basics Reads Day

On May 2nd, 50 Rotary Club of Birmingham representatives gave their time to read aloud to students in pre-K through 5th grade classrooms across the city, as part of Better Basics Reads Day. The RCB Foundation provided a copy of the grade-level book shared for each student in the classes to take home. In total, nearly 600 volunteers gathered at 29 schools and over 14,000 books were provided to students in Birmingham, Bessemer, and Fairfield City Schools, as well as Restoration and i3 Academies.
