Rotary Club of Birmingham members gathered on Sunday, April 18, 2021 to spread mulch and remove litter along Rotary Trail to get it ready for spring, when warmer weather brings thou-sands of visitors each week to walk, run, bike and ride scooters along the trail. Rotaract Club of Birmingham members, family, friends and community volunteers pitched in to beautify one of Downtown Birmingham’s signature attractions.

Rotary Trail is the Rotary Club of Birmingham’s centennial gift to the Birmingham community. Completed in 2013, the 3.5-million-dollar project transformed a blighted abandoned railroad cut into a landscaped, four-block walking/running/biking pathway that connects Railroad Park and Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark along First Avenue South as an anchor element of the Jefferson County Redrock Trail System. RCB is proud to serve as a partner with Freshwater Land Trust’s Adopt-a-Trail program to maintain Rotary Trail.
