RCB’s New Executive Director Lora Blalock Addresses the Club
RCB Executive Director Lora Blalock addressed the club during the September 11th meeting, expressing appreciation for the warm welcome she has received and for the opportunity to help lead an organization so important to her. She shared her involvement in Rotary and Rotaract has resulted in personal and professional leadership development as well as valued mentorship and guidance.
Lora thanked RCB staff and leadership for support through her onboarding, with special thanks to RCB Interim Executive Director Betts Bryars. Lora stressed the priority of ensuring a stable staff structure. She welcomed RCB's new part-time Office Manager Tyler Buck and shared that June Clark has moved into an expanded role as Director of Membership & Communications.
Lora highlighted Rotary's power of civic engagement, providing a way for business and community leaders to come together, to learn from each other, to build friendships, to invest in Birmingham, and to impact the world.
"My hope is that if you have been a member of this club for six months or for 60 years that you will feel welcomed, engaged, and have the opportunity to use Rotary as a platform to lead and invest in our community so that we can build on the legacy of this club and ensure that it remains relevant in the generations to come," Lora said.
